On the River '09

The North and South Forks of the Shenandoah River merge at Front Royal, the official "Canoe Capital of Virginia."  Front Royal, just 70 miles west of Washington, D.C., is also a gateway to the Blue Ridge Mountains, the world famous Skyline Drive, the Appalachian Trail, Luray and Skyline Caverns, and numerous Civil War landmarks and battlefields.  The area is also home to a number of Virginia's finest wineries.
